How to sell your music on iTunes for free

Selling your CDs at gigs can put a few extra bucks in your pocket, but in today's digital world, distributing music through popular MP3 websites is an absolute must. Through iTunes, Apple has become one of the most popular MP3 distributors on the planet, and selling your music through its store can give your fans all around the globe the opportunity to purchase your music without ever having to step foot in a club. If you have music that you'd like to sell online, you'll definitely want to put it on iTunes.

Log onto and click the "Get Started" tab.

Fill out the appropriate information, including name, band name, label and e-mail address, then create a password.

Log in if the site doesn't do it for you automatically. Click "Add an Album" to begin uploading your music.

Fill out your band name, album name, genre and year. Then type the names of the tracks you're going to upload in the appropriate spaces. Scroll to the bottom of the page when you're finished and hit "Submit."

Upload your album artwork by clicking the "Upload Artwork" link. Click "Browse," and then search for the picture you want to use as your album cover.

Upload your songs and then begin distributing your music by clicking the "Begin Distribution" link. Your music is now for sale on iTunes.
