According to the Care Bear Toys website, "Following the success of their first big franchise (Strawberry Shortcake) back in 1979, American Greetings introduced the Care Bear characters in late 1981 through a line of greeting cards." The toys debuted in 1982 via Parker Brothers and Kenner and then again in 1983 through a television special. While the toys became less popular in the 1990s and beyond, they still remain popular to some pockets of people, enjoying an almost cult status. A Care Bear-themed party would not be complete without the appropriate decorative items.
