Hair is easily damaged from the use of chemical dyes, perms, hair relaxers, blow dryers, curling irons, hairspray and backcombing. Most people have at least some minor hair damage, which typically shows up in the form of split ends. You can go shopping for expensive hair treatment products or you can make your own homemade hair repair mask. With just five ingredients and a few steps to follow, you can quickly and easily create a homemade hair mask that is completely safe and natural and will leave your hair silky and shiny.

Skill level:

Things you need

  • 1 banana
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 vitamin E capsule
  • Knife
  • Plastic bag
  • Clip

  1. 1

Mash up the banana in a medium-sized bowl.

  2. 2

Mix in the honey, olive oil and mayonnaise.

  3. 3

Pierce the vitamin E capsule and squeeze the liquid into the bowl.

  4. 4

Mix together well, until all ingredients are blended.

  5. 5

Apply the paste to your hair, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. When all your hair is covered, bring it all up onto the top of your head to keep it out of your face or twist it into a loose bun if it is long enough. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and secure it with a clip.

  6. 6

Wait 30 minutes and rinse your hair out. Your hair will be noticeably healthier and softer.
