Shopping for nylon panties and bras can be a different experience than shopping for conventional panties and bras. The fit of nylon is less forgiving, so it's imperative you find the right fit that flatters your shape.

Nylon panties and bras are found at large department stores and speciality lingerie shops. A large selection of nylon panties and bras can also be found online, but it's best to buy from these resources after you've determined your fit in a brick and mortar store.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Understand that nylon panties and bras do not offer support like conventional panties and bras. Nylon panties and bras existed before there were technological advances with fabrics like Lycra Spandex and offer far less support than the panties and bras you are probably accustomed to wearing. Know this as you begin shopping for nylon panties and bras.

  2. 2

Shop large department stores and speciality lingerie stores. Large department stores often have a lot to choose from when it comes to nylon panties and bras. These items are usually stocked for the department store's more mature customer, who has worn nylon panties and bras for her entire adult life. A surge in vintage trends has put nylon panties and bras on the map for a younger generation, which is why speciality lingerie stores stock the fabric in a wide selection of colours and styles.

  3. 3

Get fitted for a nylon bra. Nylon bras sometimes run small. A speciality lingerie store can fit you for a nylon bra. A department store may not have a qualified individual on hand for such a task. The bra should fit flush against the breasts and the straps and band below the bust should not dig into the skin. On any good bra, the support comes from the band, not the cups. As long as the band fits properly, your breasts will be hoisted up and you'll have the same support found in conventional bras.

Nylon bras must fit properly or else there will be excess material that can bunch up under a blouse. You should be able to comfortably fit two fingers into the cup of a nylon bra, which means it fits without uncomfortable constraint.

  4. 4

Nylon panties should also be properly fitted. Nylon panties run in sizes like conventional panties -- extra small, small, medium, large and extra large. Many nylon panties will have a high waist and full coverage in the bottom. Look for nylon panties with a cotton gusset for optimal movement and comfort.
