How to remove loctite glue

Updated April 17, 2017

Loctite glue is one of the strongest super glues available on consumer market. Loctite glue can bond to anything in a matter of seconds and will stay bonded for years. Loctite glue is wonderful to use if something needs glued since it lasts a long time. Removal, however, can present a problem. The best materials to use are what you have around the house.

Put some acetone based nail polish remover on an old terry cloth and dab the glued area to soften the glue. Once the glue is softened, wipe off with the cloth or use an old toothbrush to scrub the area

Put the glued item in warm soapy water and let it sit for a few minutes. When the glue is soft again, wipe the area off. The soap in the water will prevent any access glue to dry and reattach itself to the area you just cleaned.

Put the super glue remover on the area that needs to be removed. Wipe it off with an old terry cloth. Reapply if needed.

Things You'll Need
