The Sony Bravia 46 inch HDTV has several convenient features that make it easier for a user to connect their PC to their television. The 46 inch Bravia comes with a direct PC video and audio input jack. This allows you to connect your PC directly to your Bravia using a VGA cable. However, if you want to get the most out of your high-definition television, you'll want to connect your computer using an HDMI cable. This is only possible if your PC is equipped with an HDMI port.

  1. 1

Plug one of the video connection cables into your PC's video output port. Use an HDMI cable if your computer has an HDMI port. If not, however, use a VGA cable. Your PC's video output port is probably located on the back of a desktop computer and on either side of a laptop computer.

  2. 2

Connect the opposite end of the video cable into your Sony Bravia 46 inch HDTV. The video input port is located on the back of your Sony Bravia.

  3. 3

Connect the 3.5mm audio cable from your computer's head phone jack into the PC audio input port of your Sony Bravia. Only perform this step if you did not use an HDMI cable. The PC audio input port is located directly beneath the VGA port on your Sony Bravia.

  4. 4

Press the "Input" button on the Sony Bravia remote. This button is located in the upper right corner of the remote. Press the button until you see the picture from your computer on your TV.

  5. 5

Change your PC's screen resolution. To do this, click "Start," "Control Panel," "Appearance and Personalization" and "Adjust Screen Resolution." Click the drop-down menu next to "Resolution" and select the highest possible resolution. This will look best on your Sony Bravia. Click "Apply" to save your settings.
