Unfortunately, doing your hair at home does mean extra cleanup. Many times the hair dye spills, spatters and falls onto the floor, causing stains. The hair dye is not difficult to remove with a few household products.

  1. 1

Spray enough hairspray onto a cotton ball to saturate it. Use the cotton ball to gently wipe away the stain. Within a few seconds you'll notice the stain lift.

  2. 2

Pour vinegar and warm into a small bowl. Saturate a cotton swab in the cleaning solution. Gently use the cotton swab to apply the cleaning solution to the hair dye stain on the floor. Allow the solution to sit for five minutes, and wipe up the solution with a piece of paper towel. This is safe for even wood floors.

  3. 3

Soak a cotton ball in toilet cleaner. Apply the cleaner to the stain, and allow it set into the stain for five minutes. Run warm water over a piece of paper towel, and use that to wipe up the stain. Do not use toilet bowl cleaner on wood floors because it contains bleach.

  4. 4

Apply some bleach to a piece of paper towel. Wipe the stain with the bleach. This method is very effective or any non-wood floors.
