Vodafone is a GSM cellphone carrier that operates 900mhz and 1800mhz networks in several countries. It offers hundreds of Vodafone branded and locked handsets in the regions it services. If you'd like to use a Vodafone handset on a different carrier, there are two unlock procedures you can try.

    Vodafone Assisted Unlocking

    Enter the code "*#06#" on your device's keypad. The phone's IMEI number will be displayed. Write down the IMEI number for later use.

    Call Vodafone customer service at +44-7836-191-191 or visit Vodafone's phone-unlock page. You will be charged a £16 fee if you order your unlock code by calling customer service.

    Enter your phone's IMEI and the security verification code that displays on the web page. If you called customer service, give your phone's IMEI code to the representative.

    Enter in payment information when using the website when the payment screen is displayed. Wait for your unlock code to display.

    Enter in your unlock code exactly as described by the Vodafone system.

    Remove your Vodafone SIM card and put in the SIM card from your new carrier. Wait 15 to 20 seconds to see if signal strength appears. If you see a signal the process was successful.

    Enter in the unlock code exactly as provided. Your phone will turn off and then turn back on automatically.

    Place your new SIM card in the phone and wait 15 to 20 seconds for signal strength to appear. If you receive a signal the process was successful. If no signal appears try the process one more time. If the phone still does not unlock, contact the unlock-code provider. He will provide a new unlock code free of charge or refund your original fee.
