The BlackBerry Curve is a modern smartphone with various features such as Internet access and an MP3 player. Because of these high-tech features, you may be reluctant to work on the device. However, if you would like to personalise your BlackBerry by changing the housing to one of a different colour, or if the housing is damaged and needs to be replaced, you can perform the task yourself. It will take a little concentration, but the whole process shouldn't take any longer than a few minutes to complete.

- Plastic case opener tool
Place your BlackBerry Curve facedown on a hard surface and remove the back battery cover by sliding it off the device. Lift the battery out with your fingers.
Use your case opener tool to gently pry the plastic antenna cover off of the bottom of the BlackBerry at the seam. A case opener tool should have come included with your new housing, but if it didn't, you can purchase it from any electronics store.
Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws located on the top corners of the back of the Curve. Then insert your case opener tool in the seam between the plastic rail on the left side of the Curve and its main body. Gently work your way down the side of the Curve until the rails pop off. Repeat the process with the rail on the right side of the Curve.
Turn the Curve face up and use your fingers to gently pry up on the top of the faceplate until it comes off of the device. Now lift the plastic keypad off of the keypad frame just under the LCD screen.
Remove the four screws (one on each corner) of the keyboard frame on the Curve. The back casing of the Curve will now be free of the phone. Use your fingers to remove the back plastic case of the Curve. You will now be left with the LCD screen, green motherboard and internal frame.
Fit the new back housing (available from your BlackBerry retailer or online) on the back of the device and replace the screws on the corners of the keypad frame. Fit the plastic keypad in the frame and fit the new front housing over the front of your Curve.
Replace the side rails and the two screws on the back corners of the device. Replace the antenna cover, battery, battery cover and then you are done.
