How to remove white space between pages in word

Updated March 23, 2017

There are many ways to view a Word document. For example, you can view a document in print layout, full screen reading, or draft mode. If you view Word documents in print layout, which is the default method of viewing, you may have noticed the white space between pages of a document. If you don't like this white space and would prefer to view the pages connected, you can change the default settings.

Open Word and click the "Office" button in the top left corner of the page.

Click the "Word Options" button from the menu that opens. You can modify default Word settings here.

Click the "Display" tab. You can change page display, formatting, and printing options here.

Look to the "Page display options" section and remove the check in the box next to "White space between pages." Click "OK" to finish. There will no longer be a white space between the pages of your Word documents.

For a simple solution, mouse over the space between the pages of a Word document and double-click. This will also remove the white space between pages.
