Samsung manufactures dozens of cell phone models for many of the world's major cell phone carriers. These devices continue to increase in quality and have better, more sophisticated software. A micro SD memory card slot has become standard on the majority of Samsung cell phones, allowing you to store significantly greater amounts of data that you can access from your device. The micro SD card can be transferred from one phone to another, and also from the phone to your desktop computer. You can download game files to the SD card and install them onto your Samsung phone later. The process is simple and easy, and can be completed relatively quickly.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Insert the micro SD card into your computer. Many computers manufactured today include expansion slots on the front of the CPU that allow you to plug these memory cards directly into an on-board card reader. Plug your micro SD card into the larger standard-sized SD card adaptor that was included with your purchase, then into your computer's card reader. If your computer was not built with an internal memory card reader, you can insert the memory card into an external card reader that plugs directly into one of your PC's USB ports. The computer will automatically detect the presence of the SD card and prepare it for use with your machine.

  2. 2

Download the game files. Browse to your favourite cell phone game website and download the appropriate set-up files for your Samsung device. The majority of these files will be .CAB files, as this is fast becoming the most common file type for mobile device application installation. Other file types may also be available for your Samsung device, and it is essential that you ensure your particular cell phone model will work properly with the game you choose to download.

  3. 3

Copy the files to the SD card. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the folder where your downloaded game files have been saved. Highlight the files you wish to transfer to the SD card, right-click them, then choose "Copy" from the options menu that appears. Navigate to the SD card by opening "My Computer" and double-clicking the SD card icon, then right-click inside the SD card window and choose "Paste" from the options menu.

  4. 4

Move the SD card to your phone. When the copying and pasting process has been completed and the game files are on your memory card, remove the card from the card reader and insert it into your Samsung cell phone. Depending on your particular Samsung phone model, the SD memory card slot will be on the side of the device, or beneath the battery.

  5. 5

Install the games on your phone. Browse to the SD memory card by using your phone's internal file explorer application, then select the game files that you copied earlier. Your phone will automatically begin the process of installing the games onto your device.

Tips and warnings

  • Many cell phone game websites offer "over-the-air" downloads, which alleviates the need to transfer files from your computer to the SD memory card. By connecting to the Internet on your phone, you can download and install your chosen game directly from the gaming website.
  • You may also be able to access files on your phone's SD memory card by connecting your mobile device directly to your desktop computer with a USB data cable. This will allow you to view your phone's internal memory and the storage card as if they were additional folders on your computer.
