  1. 1

Search for websites from where you can download Rosetta Stone language packs. Many vendors actually sell these online, and you can just as easily download it anywhere. However, if you want to make sure that you only get the original version along with the necessary after-sales services, then you may as well buy it from the software developer. Go to and read as much information as you can before going to the specific page where you can make an online order.

  2. 2

Download the installers and language packs. The installer is the first software that you will have to install before Rosetta Stone software itself. What you will see saved, as a result, are images or icons of DVD media. These may be saved to your Download folder directly, depending on the settings you previously made.

  3. 3

Mount the images. You can do this by right-clicking on the downloaded DVD icons and then selecting Mount Image. A new window should appear that would ask you to select which folder to open. Select Rosetta Stone installation CD. When you do, you will see "Rosetta appl cd" along with a glob icon among the optical media images. Double-click this icon and a new window will appear that will let you install the language packs.

  4. 4

Click the Install button. A Run Installer button appears as a result along with a prompt that tells you to uninstall any older version of Rosetta Stone first before installing a new one. If you do have an older version, you need to uninstall it first. Just go to your Windows Control Panel and select Remove Programs. Remove your old Rosetta Stone from there. When you are done, go back to your new version installation.

  5. 5

Click on the Run Installer button. The installation process should begin immediately. Unless there are problems with the software, all you have to do is read the prompts that appear and click Next or Yes when asked to. When the installation is completed, just click Next again and then Close when prompted. Check your program list and task bar if Rosetta Stone icons appear. If you find it, double-click and run it for the first time.
