How to Reset the Maintenance Messages on a Nissan Murano

Updated February 21, 2017

The Nissan Murano displays a maintenance reminder message on the dashboard display panel at regular mileage intervals. The maintenance messages are designed to remind the driver of the need for regular maintenance, such as an engine oil change. A service technician performing this maintenance will reset the maintenance reminder so it will not show up again until the next mileage interval. If the technician does not reset the message, or if you do the maintenance yourself, you can reset the maintenance message manually. The procedure for resetting the maintenance reminder is similar for each model year. These instructions are specific to the 2010 Murano.

Insert the key into the ignition. Move the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

Press the trip computer switch until "Maintenance" is displayed. The trip computer button is located above the "Trip Reset" button and has a square graphic printed on it.

Press the "Select" button to enter the "Maintenance" menu. The "Select" button is above the "Trip Reset" button and has a circle graphic on it.

Press and hold the "Trip Reset" button for about 10 seconds until the maintenance reminder resets.
