Creating your own printable mini calendar has been made easy thanks to Vertex 42. The easy-to-read template opens in Microsoft Excel and shows the year 2012, but it is adaptable to any year.

Access Vertex 42 to see a list of available calendar template downloads. Along the top of the webpage will be a series of tabs. Click on the tab labelled "Calendars" to proceed. The website will present you with several different options, including pre-made printable calendars. You want to select "photo calendars" from the list of options, located at the bottom of the page. On the following page, you will be presented with three options: 1. flower photo calendar; 2. seasons photo calendar; and 3. photo calendar template. Choose photo calendar template to open a fully customisable calendar.
Click "download" from the upper corner of the photo calendar template description box. This will download a zip folder titled "photo-calendar-templates." Navigate your computer to locate the download location of the zip file. When opening the zip file, you will be shown a preview of templates. Each of these files will be Microsoft Excel formats. If you want to extract all files, select "extract all files" on the folder window, or double-click on the individual template that you wish to open.
Double-click your desired template and it will open in Microsoft Excel. You will see a blank calendar, listed with holidays, and a space to insert a photo. At the bottom of the spreadsheet, you will notice 12 tabs, each assigned to a specific month of the year. Each of these tabs is an individual page of your printable calendar. To insert photos into your calendar, first delete that reserved picture space, then insert a picture from your file, using the "Insert" drop-down menu at the top of the Excel window. You can repeat this procedure for each of the 12 calendar pages. To input additional celebrations, birthdays, and special occasions, simply click your cursor in the calendar date box and type in your text.
Review the mini-calendar printout instructions found on the Vertex 42 website. While the template is designed to enable mini-calendar printing, it can be difficult without following a proper diagram. Using 21.2 by 27.5 cm (8.5 by 11 inch) paper, print out all pages of the calendar. To properly assemble the mini-calendar, make sure all pages are aligned as shown in the printing diagram, then fold the calendar pages in half from top-to-bottom.
