Beaded glassware adds sparkle and colour to any room in your home. Set a whimsical table with beaded chargers and stem glasses, place a beaded glass sweet bowl on the coffee table or decorate a glass vase with wire wrapped beads to hold flowers in the bedroom. You can decorate almost any type of glassware with flat back glass beads or 3-D beads of any style. Hang beaded charms along wine glass stems or decorate clear glassware with dots of colour. Use your imagination to transform plain glassware into charming works of art.

  1. 1

Unroll a small amount of craft wire from the spool. Hold the end of the wire securely at the top of a glass vase. Wrap the wire around the vase in a spiral pattern, at least five times. The more you wrap the wire, the more decorated the vase will be.

  2. 2

Hold the wire at the end of the spiral, and remove it from the base. Add 25 cm (10 inches) to the length and cut the wire.

  3. 3

Make a spiral in one end of the wire. Hold the tip of the wire with round nose pliers. Turn the wire to make a loop. Hold the side of the loop with chain nose pliers. Twist the pliers to shape the spiral with 12.5 cm (5 inches) of wire.

  4. 4

Thread 4 mm (0.16 inch) glass beads over the open end of the wire to the spiral. Fill the wire with beads up to 12.5 cm (5 inches) from the end.

  5. 5

Repeat Step 3 to make another spiral at the end of the beaded wire.

  6. 6

Glue one of the wire spirals to the top of the glass vase with jeweller's glue. Clip the wire to the vase with a clothes peg to help hold it in place as you work. Clear Liquid Nails or E-6000 are both thick clear glues you can use for this project.

  7. 7

Wrap the beaded wire around the vase so that the other spiral lands at the bottom. Glue the second spiral in place. Allow the glue to dry. Remove the clothes peg.

  8. 8

Spot glue some beads along the beaded spiral to the glassware. This will help keep the decoration to the desired shape.
