A liquid soap dispenser can be a beautiful kitchen or bathroom accessory and is a functional way to keep soap available at a sink area. Over time, coagulated liquid soap may clog the pump of a soap dispenser. When this occurs, you need to clean the soap dispenser pump to restore its proper function. When you regularly clean your soap dispenser, the dispenser will continue to provide soap when you need it.

Instructions

  1. 1

Unscrew the pump dispenser from the soap bottle. Set aside the soap bottle.

  2. 2

Rinse the outside of the pump dispenser under warm running water to remove as much soap residue and coagulated soap from the outside of the dispenser as possible.

  3. 3

Fill a small bowl or jar with very hot water.

  4. 4

Place the tube extending down from the pump dispenser into the hot water. Pump the dispenser to pull the hot water up through the tube and through the dispenser.

  5. 5

Continue to flush hot water through the pump dispenser until the hot water flows freely from the spout of the dispenser without coagulated soap blocking the flow.

  6. 6

Discard any remaining water and place the pump dispenser back onto the soap bottle.

  7. 7

Prime the pump dispenser by pumping it until soap dispenses when you press down on the dispenser.

Tips and warnings

  • If the soap bottle is empty, clean it out with hot water and fill the soap bottle with hot water to perform steps 4 and 5.
  • Perform this cleaning once a month to prevent a build-up of soap on the inside of the pump dispenser.
