Custom screensavers and images may be removed from the Kindle device by connecting the Kindle to a computer via a USB connection and simply deleting the files. Note that only custom screensavers and images may be deleted. Images and screensavers provided on the Kindle by default are not available for access by the user.

Things you need
- USB connector cable
Plug one end of the USB connector cable into the Kindle device and the other end into a free USB port on a PC or laptop. Allow the device to register on the computer.
Right-click on the Windows "Start" button and select the "Explore" option from the context menu. Windows Explorer will open.
Navigate to the Kindle device and click the device name. Folders on the Kindle will be listed in the file explorer.
Double-click the folder labelled "system" on the Kindle device. If the folder is not visible, set the folder preferences in Windows Explorer to "Show Hidden Files". To do this, click Tools from the top navigation menu, then select "Folder Options..." Make the changes, then save and exit the menu.
Double-click the folder named "screen_saver" in the "system" directory.
Delete the files in the screen_saver folder.
Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the window to close Windows Explorer.
Unmount the Kindle device by clicking the Unmount icon in the system tray.
Remove the USB connector cable from the Kindle. The custom screensaver files have been removed from the Kindle.
