The Arena das Dunas Stadium is located in Natal and will host the matches where Mexico and Camerun, Ghana and the United States, Japan and Greece, Italy and Uruguay will face each other during the group stage. Getting from the airport to the city, where the stadium is located, is easy. Natal is a small city and the airport lies only 12.5 miles away, a distance that can easily be travelled by bus or taxi.

Once you get off your plane at Augusto Severo International Airport, the best you can do is call the taxi company Coopertaxirn, a 30 year old taxi driver co-op. Taking a taxi is obviously more expensive than taking the bus, but the service they provide is unbeatable. Every vehicle is equipped with air conditioning and, taking into account that Natal is almost in line with the Equator, and therefore very hot all year round, this is indispensable for the traveller who does not want to be drenched in sweat within 5 minutes of arriving.
You should always carry enough cash to pay for the trip. Taking traveller's cheques or credit cards is a good idea too, since many places are bound to set discounts for customers paying in foreign currency during the tournament. You should check with your bank if your card is valid in Brazil and if you qualify for any kind of benefit.
If you find the taxi too expensive or are feeling more adventurous, you can take a bus. Straight out of the Arrivals hall, you can take the bus with the "Natal" sign on it for £0.7 (R$2.6). Ponta Negra is where most tourist hotels are located. To get there, you should stay on the bus to "Natal" for about 15 minutes, until it reaches the Natal Shopping (there is a very recognisable sign that says "Via Direta Shopping"). Once there, you should cross the pedestrian bridge and take lines 43, 56 or any other that has "Ponta Negra" in its name. You should get off when you see Praia Shopping, which is located close to most tourist accommodations.
You should check with the hotel you booked if any kind of shuttle service from the airport is offered. This could be the case, since most hotel owners are aware that the region is extremely hot to most foreigners and travelling in that kind of weather can get very uncomfortable fast. Regarding the stadium, once down-town you should have no problem reaching it, since the city is very small.
