File sharing is a popular way of acquiring music, video and software all over the world. Many Brits are familiar with torrent download software and use it regularly to get their hands on the files they want, often illegally. Before downloading torrent files, a computer user must find the content she's interested in by using a torrent search engine such as isoHunt.

Download a free torrent client such as BitTorrent, FinalTorrent or Vuze. Without one, you won't be able to download content from isoHunt.
Open a Web browser and navigate to isoHunt. The site’s main page has a long panel showing news and side panels with advertising. The important field is the search box at the top of the page.
Type the name of the file you want in the search box. If you're looking for a song or an album, try typing the name of the artist as well. You can also find TV series and films on isoHunt.
Press “Enter” or click on the “Search” button. The text on the “Search” button will change to “Loading." You'll then be presented with a list of torrents that match your search criteria.
Look down the list of results. The “S” column shows the number of people who have your file available. These are called “Seeds.” The “L” column shows the number of people who have downloaded the torrent, but have not made it available to others. These users are called "Leeches." You can reorder the list by clicking on list headings.
Click on an entry you want to download. Entries with more seeds will download faster. In the lower panel of the screen, look to see if there is a number in brackets on the “Comments” tab. If so, click on the tab to see what others say about this torrent. If everyone has positive comments, stick with this torrent. If there are a lot of warnings that the torrent is fake or password protected, click the “Back” button on your browser and select another torrent.
Click on “Download .torrent” in the top half of this screen. Don’t press the “Download” button -- this is a premium service. Open the target file once its downloaded. Doing so will automatically launch your chosen torrent client and your content will start to download. The time it will take for your download to complete will depend on a number of factors, including how many people are seeding your chosen file, its size and the speed of your Internet connection.
