How to Register McAfee Total Protection

McAfee Total Protection offers antivirus protection for home computers. Total protection not only offers antivirus protection, but firewall protection to help keep intruders from hacking your computer. To get the most out of your antivirus software, it is important to register your product. Once you are registered, you are eligible to receive security updates, newsletters and technical support from McAfee representatives. Registration also guarantees you are alerted when it is time for you to renew your McAfee subscription.

  1. Create an account. Provide your name, e-mail address and create a password. Click "I Agree."

  2. Check your e-mail for an activation e-mail from McAfee. Click the link in the email to activate the product.

  3. Click "My Account" to access the download for Total Protection. Click "Download" under "My Protection Products."

  4. Click "I Agree" to accept the terms and conditions of McAfee Total Protection.

  5. Click "Download," the "Run" to start the download.

  6. Provide your e-mail address and created password on the "McAfee Installer" screen. Click "Next."

  7. Choose the installation type. Select "Complete Installation" to use the recommended settings.

  8. Click "Finish" to complete the installation and registration.

  9. Tip

    If you downloaded a McAfee product first and did not complete registration at the time, you can complete it by accessing "My Account." Click "Register Now" to register your product. You must provide your name and e-mail address to register.
