Filtering your drinking water may not be as expensive of an undertaking as you may think. You can create a homemade water filter for your tap water by using common household items that you use everyday. The homemade filter can clean water as well as most expensive store bought filters.
Place a coffee filter in the metal strainer.
Line the bottom of the filter with 2 tablespoons of fish tank charcoal.
Place another coffee filter on top of the layer of charcoal.
Run water through the filter to make sure it is clean and free of harmful bacteria. Store cleaned water in airtight containers for future use.
