Windows Photo Viewer is a digital image viewing application included in Windows 7 and Windows 8. It replaces the Windows Photo Gallery that was included in Windows Vista. As with other Windows software applications, updates are sometimes released.
You can set Windows to search for and install updates automatically but you can also search for specific program updates manually through the Windows Update application.
Click the "Start" button then type "Update" in the search box. Select "Check for Updates."
Check to see what updates, if any are available. Click on "Important Updates" then click on "Optional Updates." If no update for "Photo Viewer" is listed, your version is up-to-date.
