Timex Watch Instructions

Timex digital watches provide reliable timekeeping, as well as a host of other popular features such as an alarm and compass. Learning how to use a Timex digital watch is simple, leaving you time for the more important things in life.

Setting the Time and Date

To set the time and date on your Timex watch, press the "Mode" button until the time of day is displayed. Press and hold the "Set" button. Press the "Start/Split" button to increase the time increments and the "Stop/Reset" button to decrease the time increments for both the time and date. To advance to the next settings screen, press the "Next" button. When you're done setting the time and date, press the "Set" button to save.

Calibrating the Compass

In order for you to calibrate the compass on your Timex watch, you will need to remove the watch and hold it in your hand. Press the "Mode" button until the "Compass" option is displayed. Press and hold the "Set" button. Hold the watch level and facing upward, then rotate the watch twice and press the "Mode" button. Use the "Start/Split" and "Stop/Reset" buttons to increase and decrease the setting values. Press the "Mode" button, followed by the "Set" button to save your compass calibration. If your calibration was successful, the "Cal OK" message will display.

Using the Compass

To use the compass on your Timex watch, press the "Mode" button until the "Compass" mode screen is accessed. The watch will automatically display the current compass heading. After 30 seconds, the heading will time out to save battery life. To display the compass heading for an additional 30 seconds, press the "Split/Start" button.

Setting an Alarm

Your Timex watch offers a convenient alarm clock feature that is easy to use. Access the alarm setting screen by pressing the "Mode" button, followed by "Set." Use the "Start/Split" and "Stop/Reset" buttons to increase and decrease values for hours, minutes, and AM/PM. Press "Mode" followed by "Finish" to save your alarm. When your alarm sounds at the set time, press any button on your Timex watch to silence it.
