Hello, my name is Thomas Urso, head instructor at Asian Sword Arts of South Carolina. And today, we'll be talking about martial arts fighting techniques. Fighting techniques, that subject can cover many, many, many different things. So, just going to go over a real few basic routines, perhaps something you may use in your own training, okay? From here, in a fighting position, an opponent throws a punch, backhand, throws a punch, okay? Using your leg. So, the punch comes, block with the leg, finish with the other leg, okay? That's a little bit too dynamic, use your hands. Punch comes, block, come in, and now you have, okay? An arresting technique. So, the punch comes, block it out of the way, come in, okay? One to the middle, one to the head, more of a boxing-type technique. Okay, another, a lot of times when you're in a brawl situation, you're not going across a trained fighter kind of a brawling kind a guy, throw a haymaker. So, the haymaker comes, okay? Basically, be like a snowplow. So, the haymaker comes, block, okay? From here, your hands are open, right? Swoop it in, knee to the stomach. Another simple technique, okay? Say, your knuckles are injured, they're cut up, they're broken, something. You can use other parts of your hand. So, the punch comes from here, okay? Almost like a karate chop. You come in, okay? Grab, if you can't grab, at least block it out of the way. From here, step in, okay? Chop to the side of the neck, the muscle group in the neck, okay? Chopping straight onto the throat can end someone's life. So, if that's not what you want to do, chopping to the side of the neck affect a muscle group, and the worst they're going to have is a bruise, okay? From here, boom! Okay. From here, throw the punch. Throw the punch. Someone tries to grab you, okay? Come in. All you're doing is blocking the hands out. So, he's going to grab you, block him out, okay? From here, you block out, you reach behind, grab their shirt. They don't have a shirt, grab their hair, and pull in. And, you will get a choke on the throat. Once again, my name is Thomas Urso, head instructor at Asian Sword Arts of South Carolina. And today, we talked about fighting techniques in the martial arts.
