Hi, my name is Athena Haas, and I work here at Novak's. And I'm going to show you how to clean a cast iron pot. So, when you are cleaning cast iron pots, it's important not to use soap or detergent. Basically, you just want to use water and oil. If you need to scrub it you can use salt or baking soda. I would use a scrubber to get off any food that you have on the pan. And you can rinse that with water. You want to make sure that your pan gets very dry. You could finish it on the stove for a few minutes, or you could put it in a hot oven. I'm using a towel, but it's very important that it stay very dry and it be dried as soon as possible. You want to oil your pan so it's ready for it's next use. And keep it some place dry. What's very important with cast iron is that you keep it dry and do not stack it, or stack anything on top of it. And that is how to clean a cast iron pot.
