Cooking with copper pots is expensive but great for sauces. Maintain your pots with oil or copper polish with help from an executive chef instructor in this free video on pots and pans.
Hello, I'm Chef Peter Ryan from Cook Street School of Culinary Arts in Denver, Colorado. Today, we're going to talk about cooking in copper pots. Now, copper pots are very expensive. However, most chefs love them because they heat up very quickly and they cool down even quicker. They are great for sauces. However, you always want to make sure to use a little bit of fat in your pan, in your pot because you want to make sure nothing sticks to the bottom or the sides. The beautiful luster on the outside of a copper pot needs to be maintained so I recommend rubbing it with a little bit of oil or some copper polish. So, that's it, cooking in a copper pot, very simple, very easy.
