Hello, I'm Jacklyn Laflamme. I'm a professional artist with In this clip, I'm going to give you some tips on acrylic painting for beginners. You will need a canvas, you will need acrylic paint, you will need paintbrushes. We're going to start off, and I'm just going to take some red paint on my brush, and I'm going to just put like a glob of it here on the canvas. Then I'm going to go and reach in and get some yellow. And the purpose of this is that I want to show you how you can blend colors together right on the canvas. Now, you can mix the colors in the palette, but sometimes you can get some really nice effects and just start to learn to paint and really start to blend the colors. Because a big thing for beginners is how do we start blending colors. So, you can see that we put some of the red and some of the yellow. And we're just going to take our brush and you go back and forth and you just start blending in those colors. And that's what's going to create your highlights and your shadows. The other thing that you can do is to have different textures. For that, I'm going to take some green and I'm just going to show you; we're also going to just glob the paint on, and you can see that you have different textures going on. So, here it's a little bit darker and a little bit more opaque. If you add a little water to it, and you press your brush in, you could get a much more of a water color effect. So, basically you have kind of a more of an oil paint effect and another water color effect. So, there's a lot of different things that you can do and a lot of different ways that you can use acrylic paints. Another technique you can use in order to fill in the canvas, is just like little dotted strokes. So, here I've showed you long strokes and color blending, watery and oil. And another technique you can use for acrylic painting is just to fill it in, just like this, and create texture and flowers and different things. This is Jacklyn Laflamme. Thank you for watching.
