Hi my name is Tanya Batts and I'm a personal trainer with Gold's Gym. I want to talk to you today about how to use dumbbells. You don't have to be really smart to use dumbbells. Simple. They're just resistance. You can actually get a lighter weight. You can walk with the dumbbells. That's a pretty great idea. You also have the bicep curls. You can take the arms straight out, that's going to strengthen the shoulder. Bring them straight ahead of you. So this is a lot of upper body work. You could even try boxing, shadow boxing, with the weights. And also they're great not only for upper body but for lower body. Adding that resistance on. So from the side, kind of just stepping back, you could even add a bicep curl as you step back. Or just hold them straight down. That's adding extra resistance. You can even add a lift both weights up and pull to the side. Great idea to keep the weights going. And I mean you could just send them forward, pull them back. You can do anything with a dumbbell. So it's a great idea to add on a little bit of resistance and that's how you use dumbbells.
