Some of the things you want to remember is that you have about thirty seconds to make a good impression. So let's start with the firs thing you want to do. Make sure you look good. Make sure that your clothing, it's clean, it's representative of the job that you're applying for. And also make sure that you speak clearly, you have good eye contact and that all important, handshake. I can't tell you how many times a wimpy handshake has sought an interview. So make sure that if you don't know what a proper handshake is, you get with someone that does. For women, you normally, if you are man and you are going to provide handshake to a woman, you don't crush her hand. You simply lightly take her hand, nestle it inside and one shake. If you're interviewing man to man, make sure that you give a firm handshake. It says, " I know who I am. I'm in control. I'm in charge". Those few things will help you get a great introduction. One of the things that I had happened, I was interviewing someone, they forgot their name. Now those things happen, I understand. And we had a great laugh about it after, which as a matter of fact, I actually hired the guy. He was a computer technician and he wasn't really great at interviewing. But, make sure that you remember who you are, you have a great handshake, you have good eye contact and smile. Relax, have fun. Remember that interview is that first step to what maybe a great marriage. This is Gloria Campbell with Advances Training Systems located in St. Petersburg, Florida.
