I'm Bill Elzey with Showplace Lawns. I want to talk to you about how to make a good ant killer. Since we do everything organically at Showplace Lawns the best ant method I know involves using a mix of orange oil, liquid molasses and water. The recipe is 6 ounces of orange oil, 2 ounces of horticultural molasses, to a gallon of water. Mix that thoroughly. The way I would do that would be to put a little water in a container, mix those the orange oil in, mix those 2 together, add some more water, mix the molasses, mix that together and then add the rest of the water and then mix that again. So you get a really good thorough mix. Once you have got your mix the way to use it is to drench the mounds, make sure that you drench them really good. That will take care of the ants. The other thing is as far as a killing standpoint let's prefer the method of ant control it sounds so much more humane.
