My name is Christine Marquette and I am a registered dietitian with Marquette Nutrition and Fitness and I'm going to talk to you about potential side effects of Tahitian Noni Juice. Now today there have been two reported cases of liver toxicity in people drinking Noni Juice. What isn't well known is exactly how much the people ingested and whether they consumed it with something else so we don't know exactly whether it was the Noni Juice or an excessive dose or a combination with something but again there have been two cases reported of possible liver toxicity associated with Noni Juice. Other than that it does have a pretty clean track record there haven't been a lot of other reports of side effects associated with the liver or with the heart or with blood sugar control or anything like that so in small amounts and directed two to four ounces it really should not cause a problem. You do always want to be cautious with something new to your system. There is always the potential that your body could have an allergic reaction to it so if you've never had Noni Juice and you want to try it it is best just to try a very small dosage, wait 24 hours and make sure that you are not going to have a bad reaction to it because you could potentially be allergic to it with any product whether it is a natural product or something artificial there is always that potential that your body could be allergic. So from that perspective that is a potential side effect but other than that if you use Noni Juice in very small amounts as directed and you don't combine it with alcohol or combine it with any medication you really shouldn't suffer any side effects. Along the line of medications there hasn't been a lot of study with Noni Juice and how it may potentially react so if you are taking medications the safest thing is to avoid Noni Juice since we really don't know how it may affect it. We do know that some natural things such as grapefruit juice can have that effect with medication so because of that there is a potential that Noni may interact with medications as well so if you are taking a medication it is best to avoid it so that you can prevent yourself of having any potential side effects.
