MAN: So now I'm going to tell you about the My Maps feature in Google Maps, and I'm just going to introduce it real fast because it's--there's a lot of stuff you can do with it. So I want to just give you an overview of what you can. First off, it's right here. Right next to the search results tab, there's the My Maps tab. And remember to use this, you'll need to be signed in to your Google account. And I am signed in, this is why it's available to me. So what the My Maps feature is, is it lets anybody just use a simple tool like add a location, add a whole area or shape, and then add a line to just make their own map. And you can at each location, you can type in some texts about it or use a picture if it's from a--if you can enter in the URL, like if it's like from Photobucket or something like that. So like say, you're in like on a vacation or something, as you go to different places in your vacation, you could update your map and add pictures and texts, and then you can send the link to your family or friends, or you can make it a public map. If it's a public map, you might do like places to see around town or something like that. So it's pretty cool. I mean just to give you--I just threw this one together real fast, and you can see I added a picture of this place mark, pretty cool. And then I highlighted this area, and I titled it "East Austin." So you can see what I entered and MoPac. So this is how you create your own map, but there's also lots of public maps. Like you can view public maps that anybody makes public or you can even--they have just different, like, general maps you can check out like the photos from Picasa Web Albums. And you can see all these pictures pop up from different Google's Picasa Web Albums around the Austin area. And then there's some other cool stuff like The Weather Channel, and you can get all these kinds of options. So it's just like personalized maps and then some very specific maps publicly that you can look at. And so I'll show you how to create your own map, and then I'll also show you how to use some of the public maps. So this is the My Maps feature of Google Maps, and we'll go into more detail in the next two clips.
