Hi! My name is Chad Smith and I'm a state certified Journeyman Wireman basically a electrician. Okay so we have already remove the old doorbell base and we are going to prepare these wires to install the new doorbell base. This jacket is all frayed and just really in a bad condition so your remember the black tape from earlier today basically were going to take this and do the same thing that we did out side in the front doorbell button. Just pulling yourself off like a inch two inches and take that and run that around the wire. Don't do the whole wire because you would cover up the color of the wire that you wrote down earlier on that piece of paper and you wont have no idea how to hook the new one back up. So just put a little bit around the wire now its okay if they touch it is not going to short out and create a fire or anything like that but it would make your doorbell do funny things so we want to make sure that they are separated and not touching each other. Secure it down and put tape on the next wire, go around it a couple of times to secure that jacket. In fact we would just roll this tape all the way down. Now that just protects the wire from touching each other. You really don't really have to do on the red wire because you notice the red is still in pretty good condition so it should be alright. So there you have it the wire is prepare to install the new doorbell base and I'm Chad Smith and where installing a new doorbell in this house.
