Today, I’m going to take you through several tips, and each one leads to the other. On the first one, we’re going to talk about the worst 4 things you can do in golf. All golfers here everyday. The first one is keep your eye on the ball. Second one: keep your left arm straight. Third one: keep your head down. And the fourth one, remember this, the ball is not the target. Now, let’s talk about the first one real quick. What else are you going to keep your eye on? If I threw a ball to you, what else are you going to catch? If try to do something consciously, you subconsciously do, you create tension. Keeping your left arm straight. There’s never been one good player in the history of the game that had a straight left arm. It hurts. At the turn of the century, some gentleman realized that if he extended his hands from his body he could take a shorter arch and have greater distance because he had a greater diameter or greater radius. A straight left arm is a swing killer. Keeping your head down; if you don’t let your head come up, you can’t see where the ball goes. Plus, it’s physically impossible to look up on a full swing. Your head has to come up so your body can respond to your arms. The last one, very simple; the ball is not the target. If I gave you a ball and said throw it against the wall, where would you throw it? You’d throw it against the wall. The wall is your target; the fairway is your target; the green is your target. Hopefully, the sand trap and that pond are not your target. Tell you what, forget about these things, listen to the rest of these tips and we’re going to make you a better player.
