Now if your batter is very loose when you go to funnel it into the oil it will be watery and it will sort of spread out. Add a little flour, thicken it up and try again. Just carefully flip that over to get the other side brown. Then we will be transferring it to our tray with some paper towel to absorb some of the oil. You'll need a nice big slotted spoon, or like I have a flat whisk. Just lay that down, and we'll put a little bit of confectioner sugar on it. It looks great on a plate, and the kids just can pull off pieces of it and they're nice and crispy.
