Viewers for the DAV File Type

Updated April 17, 2017

The DAV file is a video file created by DVR365 digital video recorders. The DAV extension is unique to DVR365 and is not used by any other company. In order to view the DAV file, you have to use special video software that is compatible with the DAV; few programs can decode DAV files.

SlightBoss is the default monitoring software for all of DVR365's digital recording products. The software allows you to manage several cameras at one time, view real time video coming from multiple cameras, user and device management and log review. A licensed copy of SlightBoss is distributed with most DVR365 digital recorders and surveillance systems, such as the DSD316 DVR or DSD304.

DVR Studio Pro

DVR Studio PRO, developed by Haenlein Software, can view and open DAV file extensions but offers fewer features in terms of organisation and monitoring DVR365 digital recorders. DVR Studio PRO can be downloaded for a 30 day free trial and purchased for 75 Euro, or USD 101.90, as of November 2010.

All File to All File Converter 3000 7.3

All File to All File Converter allows you to convert DAV files to a more universal format, such as AVI or MP4, which will allow you to watch the DAV file on a media player, such as Real Player or Windows Media Player. All File to All File Converter 3000 7.3 is a free program (see link in Resources).
