Volcanic ash is used as an ingredient in skin care products due to its high content of the mineral sulphur. Organic sulphur is a highly moisturising substance found in many skin care items and contributes to the reduction of wrinkles. Volcanic ash is found in many face washes, soaps, exfoliating scrubs and face masks.

Volcanic ash is used in soaps and face wash and is a common ingredient in Japanese skin care products.
