Once Santa has come and gone, there are still plenty of things to do in Florida on Christmas Day. While many businesses are traditionally closed on Christmas Day, others in the Sunshine State's tourist-driven economy carry on with business as usual. From historic museum attractions to full access amusement parks, there is plenty to do throughout Florida for tourists and locals alike. Better yet, these attractions traditionally see greatly reduced crowds on Christmas.

Walt Disney World

Once all of the presents have been opened, many families choose to top the day off with a visit to one of the happiest places on earth. Walt Disney World is just one of the many Florida attractions that open as usual on Christmas Day. The park is fully operational despite the holiday, with all restaurants and rides ready to serve eager guests. Many who choose to visit Walt Disney World on Christmas choose the holiday to do so because of the lack of crowds and because of Florida's mild, late December weather. As of August 2010, the cost of tickets to Walt Disney World was £48 for ages 3-9 and £53 for ages 10 and up. Children under 3 were free.

Theatre of the Sea

The Theater of the Sea, located in Florida's southernmost tip, Key West, is an animal park that offers education on Florida's vast marine life and underwater worlds. Theatre of the Sea, which is open year round, provides its guests with interesting facts about marine life that are meant to be educational as well as entertaining. Guests can participate in the Theater of the Sea's interactive swimming programs which allow visitors to swim amid various fish and sea life such as stingrays, dolphins and sea lions in the attraction's all natural, saltwater-filled lagoons. As of August 2010, the cost of admission to Theater of the Sea was £17.5 for visitors age 11 and over and £12.60 for children ages 3 through 10. Children 2 and under were free.

Ernest Hemingway Museum

The Ernest Hemingway House and Museum, located in Key West is open on Christmas Day and offers a closer look at one of America's most famous authors. The attraction offers its visitors inside access to the author's beloved Key West home, fully decorated with the author's personal furnishings. The museum also has an on-site gift shop that offers many of Hemingway's personal writings and works. As of August 2010, the cost for admission to the Ernest Hemingway House and Museum was £7 for adults, £3 for children. Children 5 and under were free.
