The design of your job fair booth will definitely have an effect on the type of candidates your company attracts while at the job fair. The booth needs to stand out in order to attract potential employees. A professional-looking booth will attract professional-looking people; likewise, a booth displaying awards will attract those who strive for success.

Professional Look

Your job fair booth represents your company, so it needs to be as professional as possible. Some booths use only banners on the front of the table; however, a company background banner, placed behind and above the booth, will attract more attention. The background colour should be bright but not tacky. Red is professional and powerful and will attract attention, while hot-pink might not be the best background colour, unless you are selling chewing gum. Your company representatives should all wear the same colours; black provides a clean and coordinated look. The table and its materials should all coordinate. Try to use no more than two or three colours. The same number applies to gimmicks for your booth. Displaying awards or depictions of the company's successes are good ideas; they provide company validation.

Giveaways are also a great way to bring people to your booth and encourage them to stay longer. Giveaways also bring your company more exposure. Buttons, pins, key chains and stickers should be new and professional-looking. They also should have the name of the company printed on them. If your company sells products such as juices, energy drinks, chocolate, etc, you can give away samples of the product.

Another way to attract attention to your career booth is to show a company video on a medium-size television. The video should be about 5 to 15 minutes long and go into detail about the company. Include interviews from the CEO, executives, employees and satisfied costumiers. The video should take job fair attendees into your workplace, showing the day-to-day activities of different departments. If your employees do charitable work, a video of philanthropic activities will also attract attendees.
