As a rule, universities in Finland do not charge tuition. However, students do have to pay for living expenses and other fees, and students who are not citizens of a European Union (EU) country must be able to prove they can financially support themselves while studying in Finland. According to Finland's National Board of Education, this requires a sum of 6,000 euros per year. Additionally, students from non-EU countries must have proof of health insurance during their time in Finland.
