Shelving options abound for those short on space but with an abundance of things to store. Space-saving shelves come in many shapes and sizes, to fit any home's theme, style and budget.

Corner Shelves

Corner shelves utilise space that is often wasted, which is ideal for a small room or apartment. Many styles and sizes are available and don't take up much wall or floor space. Corner shelves can be modern, artistic pieces that accentuate the room or plain shelves that blend in to the background.

Shaped Floating Shelves

Floating shelves save floor space. Flat floating shelves are most common, but designers and artists can produce practically any shape or form imaginable. Cube-shaped shelves accentuate displayed items and can also become a focal point themselves. Unique floating shelves lend a modern, artsy vibe to a room.

Wrap-Around Ceiling Shelves

Wrap-around ceiling shelves are an efficient way to utilise ceiling space. The shelf should stretch the length of one or more walls. Leave enough space between the shelf and the ceiling to accommodate books and other items. Ceiling shelves are available in various materials to fit any space or theme.

Multi-purpose Furniture

Purchasing furniture with built-in storage is an another effective use of space. Bench seats provide storage space underneath the cushions and work well under a window. Coffee tables are available with built-in shelving and provide a "covert" storage option without taking up extra space.
