Health Care Bulletin Board Ideas

Design your health care notice board around national health observances by showcasing outreach information on cancer, heart disease, alcohol abuse and a wide range of public health issues. An abundance of high quality posters, handouts, brochures and topic sheets are free and available from hundreds of health care organisations. A health care notice board featuring these free or low-cost materials will provide educational information to the public that might not be seen otherwise.

Both the American Heart Association and the Sister to Sister Foundation offer numerous patient and consumer education posters and brochures presenting information on how to promote healthy living and prevent heart disease. Several topics covered on the high-quality glossy posters include nutrition and weight management, smoking cessation, high blood pressure, controlling risk factors, cardiovascular conditions, treatments and stroke. Alcohol Awareness Month

April has been designated as Alcohol Awareness Month, and there is no better time than now to use this month as a stepping stone to educate children on the dangers of drinking. The "Reach Out Now" program, established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, offers numerous high quality posters, handouts and discussion sheets to encourage families to have an open dialogue with their children about underage drinking. The material packets are aimed at fifth- and sixth-graders and feature information for educators, an interactive wall poster, skill-building worksheets and take-home items for parents and children. A notice board utilising these low-cost and sometimes free packets will definitely make an impact.
