Products containing alpha arbutin help lighten skin colour caused by burns, scars, birthmarks and genetics. In addition to lightening skin, alpha arbutin creams and serums improve skin texture and the overall look of your skin. As with make-up, skin lighteners help people feel better about their appearance.

Description

Alpha arbutin blocks skin melanin production by preventing enzymatic oxidation of tyrosine and dopa. Alpha bonding offers better stability and efficiency than previously manufactured beta-bond products. Products containing alpha arbutin act quickly and efficiently to lighten dark skin tones, liver spots and burns caused by sun exposure.

Product

Alpha arbutin is a biosynthetic ingredient used in most advanced skin-whitening or lightening products. When choosing a product that contains alpha arbutin, harmful chemicals such as hydroquinone, mercury and steroids should not be in the list of ingredients. Several over-the-counter, skin-whitening products contain natural extracts approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Source

This substance alpha glucose is a byproduct from glucosides, commonly found in plants. Extracted alpha arbutin comes from the leaves of bearberry, cranberry and blueberry shrubs. Most types of pear tree leafs contain alpha arbutin as well. Other active ingredients in alpha arbutin products include tranexamic acid, liquorice extract and a water-soluble derivative of vitamin C. For the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, common in ageing skin, vitamins E and B3 are among the inactive ingredients in the product.

Use

To lighten skin tone and minimise liver spots, apply alpha arbutin cream twice a day for several months. Your skin will be sensitive to sunlight during use and for some time thereafter. Use a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 to reduce sensitivity to UV rays. Higher SPF sunscreens provide better protection if you plan to be in direct sunlight for an extended time.

Benefits

Skin-whitening creams and serums provide a safe and natural solution to age spots, uneven skin tone, acne scars, fine lines and dullness. They help correct sun damage and prevent further growth of melanin, a colour-causing pigment.
