The Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor launched in Intel's first quarter of 2007. It represents a leap forward in Intel's Quad Core processor line, especially when compared with earlier Quad Cores such as the E6400. This CPU is a discontinued product.

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor conforms to Intel's LGA 775 socket. The processor measures 37.5 millimetres by 37.5 millimetres. It has a processing die size of 286 millimetres squared. The Q6600 boasts a total of 582 million processing die transistors. It has a voltage range of 0.8500 volts to 1.5 volts. It has four processing cores as well as four threads.

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 uses the Kentsfield core, manufactured using the 65 nanometre technology. This core has an operating frequency clock speed of 2.4 GHz. Intel's Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor is capable of being overclocked. Overclocking involves increase the clock speed and voltage from their factory specifications to realise performance increases. CPU reviewers have achieved stable overclocked specifications of 3006MHz with a Front Side Bus speed of 1336MHz while using the maximum core voltage of 1.5 volts. In benchmarking tests, the Q6600 performed better than other contemporary process like the E6600 and the E6300.
