Camouflage clothing is good for last-minute, go-to Halloween costumes. Adding some camouflage to your son's closet is also an excellent way to encourage his imagination. Army-Navy supply stores and thrift stores are good places to find camouflage supplies at discount prices. Check hunting supply stores or discount clothing stores for other hunting camouflage items.

Solider

Boys love playing army. Encourage your son's imagination by providing him with several camouflage costumes for a life-size army game. Purchase camo trousers, T-shirts, black boots and metal dog tags. Hats, binoculars and toy guns make excellent accessories to an army-supply trunk. Get a foot locker for him to store his items and encourage him to invite his friends over to play. A solider in camo is also an easy costume for any Halloween or costume party.

Major Hottie

For a simple woman's, or very brave man's, Halloween or party costume, add some spice to the traditional solider costume. Buy a tight-fitting camo T-shirt and some camo trousers or a skirt, if possible. Cut off the trousers just above the knee and layer fishnet tights under the shorts or the skirt. Add a good bra, stuffed for the man, and some sexy black heels. Finish the look with teased hair or a good wig and sultry make-up. Go for a statement lipstick colour and smoky cat-eye make-up.

Hunter

In addition to armed forces camouflage, there are also patterns used by hunters to hide themselves from their prey. For a simple Halloween costume, purchase a set of hunting camo clothes and good walking boots. From the craft store, purchase a set of silk leaves and some twigs. Artfully pin the twigs and leaves all around the outfit. Add a toy gun and you'll be ready to hunt for some trick-or-treaters. Best of all, this project is appropriate for children and adults.

Hunter-Gatherer

The hunter costume can be easily adapted into an adult couple's costume. Have one member of the couple dress up as the hunter, using hunting camouflage, twigs and leaves. For the gatherer role, have the other person dress in a long grass skirt and a simple, hippie-style vest. Fill a large, wooden salad bowl with plastic fruits and vegetables to carry around the party. Top off the look with a long, straight wig or flat iron existing hair.
