If you have a widescreen Panasonic television, the TV displays 4:3 images with bars on the left and right side of the image. This shows the image without distorting or cropping off areas of the picture, but also wastes screen space. If you are willing to accept trade-offs in losing the film's authentic screenview, you can make the picture larger using the TV's zoom functions. Zoom 1 mode makes the picture larger, but crops the top and bottom of the image. Zoom 2 stretches the picture vertically, cropping less of the image.
Press the "MENU" button on the TV remote control.
Scroll down to "Picture" and press the right arrow button.
Highlight "Aspect Ratio" and press the right arrow button.
Select "Zoom 1" or "Zoom 2" and press the right arrow button.
Press "MENU" to exit the menu mode.
You can also cycle through the image aspect ratios by pressing the "RATIO" button on the remote.
