Instructions

  1. 1

Use a tape measure to take the diameter of your head. Add one inch to this measurement. Cut fleece to this width. The length of the fleece should be nine inches.

  2. 2

Use scissors to cut out shapes for ears, nose, muzzle, and mane from another piece of fleece. Fold the 9-inch segment of fleece in half. Cut fleece so that the top is rounded in an elliptical shape and the bottom is straight. Insert the ears and the mane between fleece pieces and position appropriately. Pin material as you go.

  3. 3

Turn material inside out so that the edges of the fleece and bottom of the ears and mane are visible. Sew along the edge. Remove pins. Fod bottom edge of hat so that the hem will not be visible when turned right-side out. Pin folded material and sew hem. Flip hat right-side out.

  4. 4

Position buttons for eyes and sew into place. Attach nose and muzzle in appropriate position. Your hat is now complete.
