Origami is a paper folding technique that originated in Asia, but has been popular all over the world for centuries. This paper folding craft technique can be used to make a variety of shapes and figures including animals, insects, flowers and symbols. One easy origami paper folding project is a paper globe.

- Square paper
- Flat surface
Fold the paper in half diagonally, crease and unfold. Repeat on the other diagonal and horizontally down the middle.
Collapse the shape into a triangle. This is called a squash fold.
Fold the points on the left hand side of the largest side of the triangle up towards the top point. Repeat on the right hand side. The shape should look like a diamond.
Fold the left hand corners in towards the middle line. Repeat on the right hand side.
Fold down one of the free points on the top left hand side of the shape down towards the left hand fold that you made in step four. Slide this new fold into the pocket formed in step four. Repeat on the right side and on the bottom of the shape.
Find the end of the shape with a small opening and blow air sharply into the shape to inflate it and make a globe-shaped figure.
