How to Outline Text on Adobe Photoshop CS3

Adobe Photoshop CS3 is an image editing program that enables you to manage your graphics using a variety of tools. You can include text with various attributes such as drop shadow, gradients, patterns and glow. Each tool enables you to set a range of options to get the effect you want. Use the glow text feature to create outlined text in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

    Launch Photoshop and open the project that contains your text.

    Select the "Move Tool" from the Tools panel and click on the text.

    Select "Layer," and then "Layer Style." Choose "Outer Glow" from the drop-down menu. Click on the top bar to move the Layer Style window over, if necessary, until you can see a portion of your text. This will enable you to see changes as you make them and choose the options that give you the desired effect.

    Set the Blend Mode to "normal" and the Opacity to "100%." Click the "set colour of glow" box and choose the outline colour you want. Change any other settings you want, for instance set Technique to "precise" and the Size to "4."

    Change other settings to see the results. When you are satisfied with your outline, click the "OK" button.
