Things you need
- Stonewashed jeans
- Combat boots
- Rocker T-shirt
- White tank top
- Crop sweatshirt
Locate the tightest pair of stonewashed jeans you can find and fit into. Any waist rise will do as long as the jeans are snug throughout the hips and thighs.
Tuck the jeans into a pair of worn-in, black combat boots. Taller, more heavy-duty combat boots work best; however, any boot will work.
Pull on a rocker-themed T-shirt. Find shirts that represent bands of the '80s such as Duran Duran, KISS or Bon Jovi. T-shirts were a hot commodity during the '80s. Men wore them with practically everything to show off their inner rock star.
Tease hair up, similar to the men of Duran Duran, and wrap a headband around your head. To obtain the largest hair possible, you will need medium to long hair. Tease hair by holding hair upward and using a rattail comb to tease downward at the roots. Short-hair men can either wear a wig, or simply spray a coloured hairspray through your hair, such as green or blue.
Wrap your head in a headband and coordinating wrist band.
Pull on a bright pair of leggings, such as pink, purple or yellow, to bring out your '80s fashionista. Leggings can reach down to your ankle or they can stop mid-calf.
Pair the leggings with a white tank top under a cropped sweatshirt. Most cropped sweatshirts were made as such; however, if you need to make your own simply cut the sleeves off of a heather-grey sweatshirt, cut a "V" neck into the collar and cut the midsection of the shirt off just below the bust line.
Match the outfit to a pair of socks and pull on a pair of plain white sneakers -- either low-top or high-top.
Drape yourself in chunky, oversized jewellery to coordinate with your outfit. Neon colours were all the rage during the '80s so find jewellery that will stand out. Items can include bangle bracelets, chunky necklaces and big hoop earrings.
Tease hair into a big hairdo. Women in the '80s had the philosophy that the bigger the hair, the better.
